AIMI vs. USA in International Court for Mentally Ill Americans

Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill ("AIMI") plans an action in International Court to (i) win restitution for victims of human trafficking - people who were denied psychiatric and/or drug and alcohol treatment in order to enrich prison investors, (ii) win restitution for victims of mentally ill people and drug/alcohol addicts who were denied treatment, and (iii) help decriminalize mental illness and drug/alcohol addictions in the USA by demanding punitive damages for the failure of the United States, a United Nations member state, to adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention Against Torture, and other international laws, treaties, and conventions regarding human rights, particularly the rights of individuals with health disabilities. The action will be filed in 2015 by an International Human Rights Lawyer.

Please note that AIMI vs. USA will only sue for monetary damages, not for release of prisoners or policy changes. AIMI believes that if enough money is paid by the United States to persons whose human rights are or were violated, policy changes will be a natural consequence of the international exposure and financial loss resulting from this lawsuit. Claimants are encouraged to continue using regular legal channels to seek prisoners' releases and humane incarcerations. AIMI will sue for monetary compensation to our claimants for pain and suffering. Generally, persons who have already settled monetary claims for personal injuries and deaths will be ineligible as claimants for AIMI vs. USA, but feel free to apply.

Potential claimants are invited to phone conferences on the first Saturday and Sunday mornings of each month, using the telephone numbers listed below.

Conferences begin at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. You can connect with the conferences at Blogtalkradio by calling (347)857-3293. You can also connect to the claimants' conferences using our FreeConferenceCall dial-in number (605)562-0020, Meeting I.D. Code: 992-212-650. If that fails, the backup number is (805)360-1075. Learn more about this international action to win restitution for Claimants and change for America. If you experience problems connecting, call and report problems to the director, Mary Neal, at (770)879.5163. (Please note that 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time is 10:00 a.m. Mountain, 11:00 a.m. Central, and 12 noon Eastern.)

Most of our claimants have a close relative or next friend who has experienced or is experiencing long-term homelessness, brutality by community members or police officers or jail and prison guards, prison torture (including long-term solitary confinement) or wrongful death, especially under the color of law. Other acts of discrimination will be considered, such as the government's neglect to provide timely, appropriate psychiatric services or adequate special education services, as well as housing discrimination.

Tapes are available for listening any time. "AIMI vs. USA" has had EIGHT claimants conferences. They are scheduled for the first Saturday and Sunday of each month. Thank you for sharing.

Some participants experienced trouble connecting with "AIMI vs. USA" phone conferences in September. If the interference continues, we will seek assistance from the United Nations. People with mental illness and drug/alcohol addictions are worth a great deal of money to prison investors in government; therefore, "AIMI vs. USA" is greatly feared. Taxpayers are billed over $80 billion per year for America's prison expenditures, and more than half of the inmates are mentally ill people. Another reason for censorship that most "AIMI vs. USA" Claimants reveal crimes against humanity that happened or are still happening to Americans with mental disabilities, including prisoner torture and wrongful deaths. These revelations are embarrassing.

If you have difficulty joining the phone conferences, please email Mary Neal at MaryLovesJustice@gmail.com, and call (678)531.0262 or (571)335-1741. Title your email "AIMI vs. USA." You can also use the comment field of any article in

or Dog Justice for Mentally Ill blog at

Leave your email address and/or phone number, and AIMI contact you.

Despite the illegal interference, this matter will go before to the International Court in 2015. Mentally ill people and drug/alcohol addicts who are poor or middle class deserve treatment, not torturous incarceration in long-term solitary confinement, denied visits and phone calls sometimes for years. We, the families and next friends of mentally ill people in the USA, will demand restitution for negligence, police brutality, prisoner torture, and wrongful deaths in the United Nations and request that body to mandate appropriate changes in the United States to respect the human rights of mentally ill persons, drug/alcohol dependent people, and their families. Up 100 families from both classes will be accepted. The closing date to enter "AIMI vs. USA" lawsuit in International Court will be in the summer of 2015, so please share this announcement.

It would be illegal to keep a dog in a tight space 23 hours a day and gas or Taser him for barking. It would be illegal to put a dog in deadly restraint for control. That happens to mentally ill people routinely in the nation's correctional facilities. What happened to Larry Neal?

Mentally Ill Americans Need Dog Justice. Treat mental illness medically, not legally. Please advocate for your congresspersons to pass H.R.3717 - The "Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act." Try to elect people who support human rights and justice for all, not prison investors who have a conflict of interest in voting to decriminalize mental illness in the United States of America, an equal opportunity nation.

Marching to the U.N. for Prisoners' Rights

Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill ("AIMI") vs. USA in International Court re Crimes Against Humanity

* Now gathering 100 cases of government abuse of mentally challenged Americans of all races to present a Complaint to the United Nations: rejection for treatment, long-term homelessness, hospital abuse, wrongful convictions, lengthy solitary confinement, police brutality, executions, and wrongful death cases. Call 678.531.0262 or Google Voice (571)335-1741. Email MaryLovesJustice@gmail.com. Title the email "AIMI v. USA."

* Also gathering 100 people victimized by mentally ill people or drug addicts who were denied treatment. If you were robbed, burglarized, assaulted, or had a relative who was killed by a mentally ill person or a drug/alcohol addict, please call us and email us.

* We will demand monetary damages for claimants plus changes in how America treats mental illness and substance abuse. Incarceration must be replaced with adequate, timely treatment and subsistence assistance.

Continue to call and email until you reach Mary Neal. The government may not want you to be included in this international Complaint against the USA. The U.N. provides that abuses by government agents (including police, judges, and other officials) can be levied against its member states. It may not matter if your case is beyond the statute of limitations set by U.S. law or if it was dismissed by corrupt courts. Hear more at "ASSISTANCE TO THE INCARCERATED MENTALLY ILL" Blogtalkradio shows Wednesdays at 9pm Pacific.

This international action is intended to (1) pay restitution to affected parties, (2) protect Americans who have mental disabilities and drug/alcohol dependencies, and (3) protect innocent people who suffered at the hands of untreated mentally ill persons or drug and/or alcohol addicts.

AIMI believes that people with mental illness and drug or alcohol addictions are deliberately left untreated to commit crimes that will excuse long prison sentences. This is done to enlarge our prison population. At least one-half of America's inmates are mentally ill (1.25 million), and over one-half of the victims of police violence are also mentally ill. Sixty percent of inmates in solitary confinement (SHU) are mentally ill. The entire private prison system was created and is sustained by criminalizing mental illness and drug/alcohol addictions. Mentally challenged and addicted people deserve treatment, not punishment.

"AIMI vs. USA" will be filed with the International Court in 2015. All Claimants' cases will be reviewed by the International Lawyer and those selected will be presented in the legal action for recovery of damages.

Phone conferences to join Claimants in "AIMI vs. USA" in International Court are held on the first weekend in every month at 9am Pacific time, 10am Mountain Time, 11am Central and 12 noon Eastern. Beginning dates were September 6 and September 7.

The Damion Hayes Story: Mentally Ill in SHU

1.  WHY IS DAMION HAYES IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT serving a life sentence for an assault that caused no lasting injuries, his first offense? Prison investors prefer young, mentally ill inmates like Damion, because they are most expensive on taxpayers. The increased cost to maintain a prisoner in solitary confinement can range from $14,933 to $21,485 per inmate every year. The average cost of a prisoner in SHU is $78,000 per year. Over 60 percent of inmates in solitary confinement are mentally ill. Multiplying $80,000 per year times 50 years (Damion's remaining life expectancy at sentencing) means the mentally challenged young man is worth $4 million to prison investors, Fred Hayes. That is why your son was imprisoned rather than treated for his mental illness, and it is why I am censored and persecuted continually for advocating to decriminalize mental illness.

2.  In many prison facilities, inmates who are not warehoused in solitary confinement nevertheless bring their worth up to $80,000 per year or more by providing prison labor. Inmates who refuse to work are remanded to solitary confinement so that the extra $14,993 to $21,485 can be extracted from taxpayers for unproductive slaves. Some of the corporations that use prison laborers instead of hiring more "free" people include: Starbucks, Nintendo, Victoria’s Secret, JC Penney, Sears, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Eddie Bauer, Wendy’s, Proctor & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Fruit of the Loom, Motorola, Caterpiller, Sara Lee, Quaker Oats, Mary Kay, Microsoft, Boeing, and the USA.

3.  Prison investors are blinded by greed and unable to see your son as a human being, just as slave owners were blinded by greed for over 400 years and would not acknowledge their slaves' humanity. Dehumanizing mentally ill people protects prison investors and their slave catchers from feeling remorse about the high numbers of mentally ill Americans who receive catastrophic injuries and are killed on our streets and behind bars. You and your family and friends look at the photo above and see Damion, an intelligent, handsome young man who has a health issue that can and should be treated, not punished. But prison investors see only the $4 million which they can earn by continuing to warehouse Damion in a 6 foot by 9 foot cell, just as they have for roughly 14 years. Damion and others are like animals that prison profiteers are boarding for a tremendous fee. In many cases, they are not treated with the respect that is given to animals.

4.  The fact that Damion is black makes his inhumane and excessive incarceration all the more acceptable to prison investors, including those in government positions whose duty is to protect the rights of Americans, especially Americans with disabilities and people who are institutionalized. A study showed that black people who are suffering engender less sympathy than other races. The lack of sympathy was evident even among blacks who participated in the study. Therefore, having black people in decision making positions has not and will not positively affect black prisoners who endure brutality and torturous solitary confinement, especially since reversing mass incarceration would incur a personal cost to decision makers in terms of their own stock portfolios and career growth.

5.  (Ten numbered paragraphs are in this article, seven urls, one email address.) The recent study by Kelly M. Hoffman and Adam Waytz shows that people, including medical personnel, assume black people feel less pain than white people. The researchers asked participants to rate how much pain they would feel in 18 common scenarios. The participants rated experiences such as stubbing a toe or getting shampoo in their eyes on a four-point scale (where 1 is “not painful” and 4 is “extremely painful”). Then they rated how another person (a randomly assigned photo of an experimental “target”) would feel in the same situations. Sometimes the target was white, sometimes black. In each experiment the researchers found that white participants, black participants, nurses and nursing students assumed that blacks felt less pain than whites.

6.  We have before us the same task that our great grandparents did: abolition of slavery. Although whites also suffer in America's prison industrial complex, injustice remains largely a racial issue in the United States. This writer knows of no Caucasian family who had a member secretly arrested, kept nearly three weeks under secret incarceration, deprived of prescription heart and psychiatric medications, then returned to the family as a naked corpse without any explanation, excuse, inquest, investigation, prosecution, or wrongful death payout. It is doubtful that a major law firm could succeed in having courts declare it "nonexistent" to avoid liability after defrauding a Caucasian family like The (Johnny) Cochran Firm did to the Neal family.

7.  No Caucasian family would be in danger of financial persecution, censorship, and retribution for asking officials in federal and local government offices what happened to the deceased. That response is limited to Larry Neal's family and black families in the Old South when their loved ones were lynched. Crosses would blaze in the yards of black families to warn survivors not to seek justice. Deprivation of equal protection under the law in 21st century America continues unabated while the nation pretends it entered a post-racial era and undermines affirmative action, the Voting Rights Act, and other provisions that were instituted to improve conditions of blacks in this land that prospered mightily by slavery for 400 years and still benefits from enforced prison labor of a largely black prison population.

8.  Fred Hayes sought psychiatric help for Damion when he was 17 years of age and his mental illness manifested itself, but Fred was rejected. Psychiatric treatment is often withheld from mentally ill Americans unless they prove (usually through preventable crimes) that they are a danger to self and others. A year later, Damion attacked a neighbor for no apparent reason, probably while hallucinating, and was sentenced to prison for 23 years to LIFE for his first offense. Mentally ill inmates are unlikely to be treated favorably by any parole board because their illness precludes their ability to follow prison rules and win favor from guards and the warden. Therefore, Damion is likely ineligible to exit prison minus a successful appeal or a pardon.

9.  Damion's two appeals have been rejected, and his family continues to work with attorneys to release the young man who should be a hospital inpatient and not a prison inmate. We request your help on the Move.org petition to the White House and Florida's governor for Damion's pardon: "SAVE FLORIDA INMATE DAMION HAYES FROM SHU." Please sign and share the petition at the link below to save Damion as well as Florida taxpayers who would be billed over $4 million during Damion's lifetime if he remains imprisoned. Your support may help deliver Damion from prison, where he has already spent 14 years in torturous solitary confinement. Damion is capable of undergoing treatment and being restored to a wholesome life. Damion Hayes is not an animal.

Pay Bond to Avoid Indefinite Detention

WARNING FOR FAMILIES OF AFRICAN AMERICANS AND MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE UNDER ARREST. The system has started holding blacks and mentally ill people indefinitely without trials. Do not make getting a lawyer your first priority. PAY THE BOND, or your relative may be denied trial. If you pay the bond, the justice system must set a trial date. If you lack funds to retain an attorney plus make bond, paying the bond should be your primary objective. Otherwise, if your attorney chooses to work with the prosecutors against your relative, you will have spent your money for an unethical defense attorney plus be denied trial forever. Your relative may then be tortured in solitary confinement, beaten, raped, and otherwise abused to force him/her to sign a plea bargain on false criminal charges.

Your first order of business must be to rescue your loved one from their clutches. Once your relative is released on bond, the system must set a trial date, because the bonding company will require a return of the bond. The system respects corporations but certainly not liberty and justice or the Constitution, which falsely claims that Americans have a right to speedy trial under the Sixth Amendment. The Constitution is not respected or upheld in the American justice system. Corrupt defense attorneys can trick your relative into signing a waiver to speedy trial, especially if he/she is very young or mentally ill. Corrupt defense attorneys can also refuse every court date offered and ask for continuances for years, even without a waiver to speedy trial. The only way your relative might be given a trial, especially if the prosecutor has a weak case, is if you bond him/her out of jail. Otherwise, torture is used to force a plea deal, which saves the prosecutors from losing in court. Corrupt defense attorneys and prosecutors may then split a "finder's fee" from prison investors plus keep your retainer.

Thank you for your attention to this advice. Believe me - they will keep your loved ones in torturous solitary confinement for YEARS without trial, and your relatives' proof of actual innocence will never be brought before a court. Stop thinking that everyone in prison is guilty. Legal professionals estimate that between 5,000 and 10,000 people are wrongfully convicted people per year, and they should know. GET YOUR RELATIVES OUT ON BOND BEFORE RETAINING AN ATTORNEY, even if you have to use a court-appointed lawyer because you spent everything on the bond. PAYING BOND IS THE ONLY WAY YOU ARE LIKELY TO GET A TRIAL DATE IN AMERICA, ESPECIALLY IF PROSECUTORS KNOW YOUR RELATIVE CAN PROVE INNOCENCE. God bless you. Below are some cases proving that trials are denied to force plea bargains:

Justice for Shannon Nyamodi Telephone Campaign
http://marylovesjustice.blogspot.com/2014/03/justice-for-shannon-nyamodi-telephone.html
Shannon Nyamodi was transferred away from Franklin County, NC Jail where he was kept in torturous solitary confinement for most of two years. He immediately wrote a letter and filed it with the court firing his lawyer, Mike Klinkosum. Shannon and his family looked forward to finally getting an ethical defense attorney and going to trial. Within two weeks, Shannon was transferred back to Franklin County Jail, where he had been tortured and denied trial for years, and Klinkosum presented a plea deal he said Shannon signed. There was never a court date or even a hearing regarding the plea. We must wait to see what was done to Shannon to force the plea deal besides exposing the youth to the trauma of being transferred back to the torturous jail after the youth and his family thought that chapter of his life was closed.

Terrell Scott Too "Crazy for Trial" But Competent for Plea Deal
Terrell Scott maintained his innocence for nearly five years. The mentally ill youth was beaten, raped, exposed to HIV, and held in torturous solitary confinement. His attorney and prosecutor worked to prevent Scott's case from going to trial. After Scott finally agreed to plea bargain, he was finally deemed "competent," and was released from prison. Scott's plea bargaining left the charges against him on record. Scott and his family have been persecuted ever since his prison release. They experienced only one happy night together as a family after Scott's release before the persecution began. Officers of the court recognize their clear liability for what happened to Scott, and the system attacked him and his family viciously. Now Scott's mother has had a heart attack and Scott threatens suicide - all within two months. We interviewed his mother, Holly Alston, on the "Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill" Blogtalkradio broadcast last Wednesday. Listen at this link:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/nnia1/2014/05/29/assistance-to-the-incarcerated-mentally-ill

Two Mississippi Inmates Are Still Awaiting Trial After 7 and 8 Years
The U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to a speedy trial, but two men in Mississippi are still waiting for trials after 7 and 8 years. The two black inmates, Marktain Kilpatrick Simmons, 43 and Lee Vernel Knight, 47, both have mental issues and have been waiting years for a their day in court. Both Simmons and Knight are being held at the Hinds County Detention Center.

Do not leave your relatives in jail if you can pay the bond, especially if they are innocent. One way for prosecutors to avoid loosing the cases is to deny trials. There are many other cases like the three above. Pay the bond to avoid indefinite detention without trials under torturous conditions. There is no justice, so do not expect it. Prison profiteering has spread throughout the justice system like an airborne disease.

CBC Members Who Favor Mass Incarceration

Who in the Congressional Black Caucus voted for three mandatory minimums?
Here’s a list: Reps. Joyce Beatty, Karen Bass, Sanford Bishop, G.K. Butterfield, Andre Carson, Lacy Clay, Emanuel Cleaver, Elijah Cummings, Chaka Fattah, Al Green, Alcee Hastings (introduced H.R.645 - the concentration camp bill - in 2009), Steve Horsford, Robin Kelly, Sheila Jackson Lee, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Greg Meeks, Don Payne, Charlie Rangel, Cedric Richmond, Terri Sewell, Marc Veasey and Frederica Wilson [Hank Johnson, Bobby Rush and Bennie Thompson did not vote, which is the same as voting for mandatory minimums. Silence is consent].

After 30 years of evidence that mandatory sentences drive mass incarceration, it should be obvious that mandatory minimums are bad policy.

http://www.crewof42.com/cbc-2/justice-reform-22-black-caucus-members-vote-yes-to-3-mandatory-minimums/#sthash.OJiKOlal.dpuf

Congressional Black Caucus members who withdrew support from H.R.3717 - The Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act. Were they and the congress persons who never co-sponsored H.R.3717 promised private prison stock for the mentally ill in their districts who wind up in prison, usually after avoidable crimes?

Rep. Moore, Gwen [D-WI-4]
Rep. Clay, Wm. Lacy [D-MO-1]
Rep. Veasey, Marc A. [D-TX-33]
Rep. Christensen, Donna M. [D-VI-At Large]

H.R.3717 provides for resumption of Medicaid insurance for inpatient psychiatric treatment; an assistance outpatient treatment pilot program, including food, housing, and mandated psychiatric treatment; and crisis intervention training (CIT) for police and prison officers to avoid overuse of force. Most cases of mentally ill people killed by police are black and/or poor. Over 1.25 million mentally ill people are prisoners.

European Explorers and Prison Investors: USERS

Where we walk to school each day,
Indigenous children used to play -
All about their native land,
Where the shops and houses stand.

And the trees were very tall,
And there were no streets at all,
Not a church and not a steeple -
Only woods and Indigenous Peoples.

They welcomed us into their space,

And what we wanted, we did take.
We committed genocide,
And remaining natives are OCCUPIED*

Bro. David Alvarez speaks about the occupation that relegates many Indigenous Peoples to poverty and despair, withholds federal recognition of numerous tribes, and denies Native Americans the right to practice their religion and observe cultural customs in 21st century America. Hear the interview at the NNIA1 "Open Mic Night" Blogtalkradio show on November 23, 2013, at
(CoIntelPro apparently made the interview accessible again.)

Bro. James Cosner, a Native American author and college professor, was interviewed on November 26. We look forward to his new book, called "Look Inside - History's Keys for Unlocking Self-Empowerment and Global Change" (published by LuLu.com). Cosner shared a treasure trove of information about the history of North American Indigenous Peoples and European explorers, such as Christopher Columbus. He also spoke about modern political prisoners like Leonard Pelteir on our "Human Rights for Prisoners March" Blogtalkradio show. Cosner explained the predatory nature of prison investors, who are like European explorers of centuries ago. Listen, and please share the url.

Maine Criminalizes Mental Illness

A RECENT REQUEST to Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill :

Hi, everyone. My name is Steve Lewicki and I am the Coordinator of the Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition. We've got a desperate situation in Maine with correctional officers working at the state psychiatric hospital using Tasers, pepper spray, and force on patients. There is also a bill to transfer 30 people who have been deemed incompetent to stand trial or not responsible for their crimes to the state's max prison. Is there anyone that can advise me on strategies to improve and/or prevent this?
_____
Below is a video that demonstrates the issues that Mr. Lewicki describes in Maine: "Mentally Ill in Prisons" at YouTube http://youtu.be/9MOTKHlhKeY . If you have suggestions for Mr. Lewicki, please post them as comments here, or TRY to email me at MaryLovesJustice@gmail.com . Emails and phone messages not answered within 24 hours were not actually received. (I am censored. Municipalities are under contracts with private prisons and jails to keep them at a certain occupancy.) If you have influence over Maine, please address these inhumane, immoral conditions. WHY on earth are correctional officers working in mental hospitals? Why are mental hospital inpatients being treated like prisoners in War on Terror camps and controlled with Tasers, pepper spray, and FORCE instead of having compassionate, skilled hospital staff who use tranquilizers, straight jackets, and rubber rooms? Why are mental patients who were found to be incompetent to stand trial being imprisoned instead of hospitalized in Maine?

Can you help with this situation, Governor Paul LePage?

Can you address these issues, Mr. Joseph Pointe, Commissioner of the Department of Corrections in Maine?

Can you help your institutionalized mentally ill patients and inmates in Maine, Mr. Romney?

Is there something you can do about brutality to the mentally dysfunctional citizens in Maine, Senators?

The United States Department of Justice is responsible for protecting the rights of disabled Americans and all institutionalized persons. Will you address the abuses against the mentally ill in Maine hospitals and prisons, Attorney General Eric Holder?

Why are hospitalized mental patients being TASERED, sprayed with pepper spray, and strong-armed into submission by prison guards? Are dogs treated that badly in Maine's kennels? Does "maximum security" mean SOLITARY CONFINEMENT TORTURE? Does the law permit Maine's most vulnerable citizens to be denied trials and committed to PRISONS? Only 60% of the nation's incarcerated mental patients receive psychiatric treatment behind bars.
The budget for National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2013 was $639.7 billion. Please consider using part of those funds to provide substantial mental hospital space in Maine and every state, plus make assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) programs available for mental patients exiting jails and hospitals. Especially after the recent Navy Yard killings, American officials must realize that removing barriers to timely treatment for mental illness is providing "national defense."
We recognize that municipalities may have contracts with private prison owners to keep their facilities filled to a certain capacity, as reported by "Think Progress" at  http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/09/20/2658701/private-prison-firms-quotas-cells-coffers/ , but the mentally ill must not be reduced to prison commodities. Decision makers over Maine and the USA, please do unto others as you would have them do to you and your sick or addicted family members. Please do not Taser, pepper spray, and brutalize the mentally ill, and do not continue to sentence acute mental patients to prison without trials. We live in the 21st century, not the Middle Ages. Justice Clarence Thomas has a sick nephew, and Vice President Joe Biden has a niece who causes him concern. Every family has someone who is mentally ill, a condition affecting one in five Americans to some degree.

Please give ASSISTANCE TO THE INCARCERATED MENTALLY ILL in the State of Maine and throughout America. Officials over justice in Maine should contact Prisoner Advocacy Coalition and advise Mr. Lewicki of appropriate actions that will be taken in connection with his request.

Mentally Ill in Prison, a video by nstephenson2

Note: The narrator of the film showed a picture of Larry Neal and misrepresented him as being another mentally ill man who was arrested for child support and killed while in custody. Larry Neal was actually secretly arrested for 18 days and murdered in Memphis Shelby County Jail in 2003 by means that have not been disclosed.
