Shannon Nyamodi: A Good Samaritan Imprisoned

Please see two January 2014 updates below. When a woman came out of a house screaming and fell to the sidewalk, Shannon Nyamodi, 18, hurried to her aid from the house where he was visiting friends in Franklin County, NC. He called 911. The white woman had been shot. She said her daughter was responsible. The police arrested Shannon for shooting the woman in her head, because he was the only black man around! The victim lived. She swears Shannon did not shoot her, but the people who did shoot her may be related to Sheriff Jerry Jones, of Franklin County, NC, and they are NOT to be blamed.

Website for Shannon:

The good Samaritan has been incarcerated for a YEAR, held on a $500k bond, although he has no criminal background and had recently graduated from high school. He was a working young man who was about to go into the military.

Shannon's mother, Elizabeth Crudup, was a guest on BlogTalkRadio on December 19, 2013, and discussed her son's persecution. The interview is archived at this url:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/nnia1/2013/12/20/enslavement-and-genocide-of-africans-and-indigenous-peoples  ~"The Enslavement and Genocide of Africans and Indigenous Peoples" show broadcasts Thursdays at 9pm Pacific at (818)572.2947 or by computer

Do they plan to kill the victim who swears Shannon did not shoot her? How does racists in North Carolina intend to prosecute the person who HELPED the woman with her declaring it was not Shannon who shot her? The drama unfolding in Franklin County is very frightening for the victim, who is waiting to testify on Shannon's behalf, as well as for Shannon and his family. Will you please help them? The young people who allegedly shot the victim may have been connected to another shooting around Mother's Day, 2013. Again, they were not arrested.

Shannon's family raised a substantial fee and retained a defense attorney who is a former prosecutor, Maitri (Mike) Klinkosum. Crudup believes he is working with the prosecution on this case instead of working for his client. He tries to get Shannon to take a plea deal instead of motioning for a bond reduction and a speedy trial on these trumped up charges. Don't let the system railroad this young man just because he is black in order to save Caucasians who the victim said really assaulted her. Please help Shannon get home.

POSSIBLE CORRUPTION IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, NC

Sheriff Jerry Jones lost his re-election bid, but the people's choice was thrown out of office, and the county commissioners appointed Jones back to his old position. They planned to have a special election in December 2013, but it was postponed for one year. The sheriff's phone number is (919)496.2186.

The district attorney for the 9th District of North Carolina, Samuel T. Currin, was a judge. He was prosecuted for corruption and sentenced to ten years of prison but was released after two years and became district attorney of Franklin County. Ms. Crudup says Mr. Currin told her he knew Shannon was innocent and that Shannon's attorney is the one trying to get Shannon to accept a plea deal. The district attorney's phone number is (919) 497-4290. See an excerpt from News Observer, published when Mr. Currin was released:

RALEIGH — Sam Currin, a former judge, federal prosecutor and state Republican Party chairman, was ordered released from prison after serving a fraction of a nearly six-year sentence for money laundering and obstruction. http://www.newsobserver.com/2009/07/13/64782/judge-orders-sam-currin-released.html

***January 13, 2014 UPDATE***

Shannon Nyamodi's mother was wrongly prevented from seeing him for weeks after her initial interview with us on NNIA in autumn of 2013. Elizabeth Crudup said Shannon Nyamodi has been contained in torturous solitary confinement during most of his incarceration. She was finally allowed to see her son two weeks ago. A judge actually escorted Crudup to the jail to ensure that she was allowed to see Shannon. Crudup has filed a habeas corpus petition for Shannon.

Shannon has a hearing on January 21, 2014. Continue to pray for justice for this innocent youth who was wrongly prosecuted for shooting a woman who says herself that Shannon is innocent. He is the person who HELPED her. Shannon needs a new defense attorney.

Franklin County Courthouse records were BURNED, some dating from the 1800's. Pray for people whose evidence and historical records have been destroyed in the records fire - perhaps to cover-up corruption.

***January 29, 2014 UPDATE***

Shannon was NOT allowed to leave the jail for court on January 21. In fact, his case was removed from the Franklin County court calendar. The judge said he will not honor Crudup's petition for habeas corpus, because Shannon's defense attorney said to ignore the defendant's mother. Shannon continues to be indefinitely detained without trial. Shannon is denied his Sixth Amendment right to a speedy, public, fair trial ON THE REQUEST OF HIS DEFENSE ATTORNEY, MAITRI (MIKE) KLINKOSUM.

"Maitri (MIke) Klinkosum Requests a Continuance"
http://media.wix.com/ugd/effe2c_fce2b86013d647c3bcc01ba00dcbef57.pdf
Elizabeth Crudup says her sister used the family's money to hire Klinkosum and that Klinkosum threatened her sister when she tried to fire the unethical defense attorney. Klinkosum allegedly said that if he is fired, he will WORK WITH THE PROSECUTOR to be sure Shannon gets a 30-year sentence. That cannot legally be done, but Crudup's sister apparently does not know it. Both Crudup and her sister are foreign-born women. Shannon Nyamodi's arrest has evolved into a hostage situation, and Crudup feels that Shannon's main terrorist is his own attorney. Crudup filed complaints with the State Bar, the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice.

Shannon is not allowed visitors or phone calls. Crudby says Shannon is being tortured in solitary confinement to force a plea bargain. The judge who impressed Elizabeth as being fair and who escorted her to the jail to ensure that she saw her son on January 6 was reportedly transferred. Shannon Nyamodi's case may demonstrate that people who invest in private prisons should not be officers of the court. More updates will be added.

The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. ~Proverbs 29:7

THE SIXTH AMENDMENT
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

  1. I am outraged by these events. What evidence must they have against him? DNA? A weapon? A witness? I will help all I can. I spoke with Walter Jones for almost 2 hours about this and he led me to this site. Please contact me because I am looking for some answers. Please tell Shannon and his Mom that surely there will be a BUCKET OF CASH for them at the end of this evil story. God bless you all!

  2. Thank you, Sande Kirby. I will relay your message to Elizabeth Crudup. There is NO evidence against Shannon Nyamodi. That is our point. Even the victim of the shooting knows and already said Shannon did not shoot her. I think that because she was shot in the head, they expected her to die. When she did not, they decided to hold Shannon under indefinite detention to force a plea deal on charges they cannot hope to prove in a court of law. He has been denied a trial for around 17 months now. Lately, they added solitary confinement (torture) to his imprisonment to force the youth to lie on himself and avoid giving him a trial. This is the most absurd case I know about.

  4. Thank you, Skerios. The media, including black-owned media, censor what they are told to censor. That is why the Internet is so important, especially to African Americans and other people whose news would not otherwise be published. Mainstream media seldom reports any news that would be negative to the government until reports or videos (such as police brutality) have gotten so much online media attention that the stories cannot be ignored.

Katherine Crudup reported that when she met with the local NAACP president, he said, "I'm not coming between a black boy and jail. I have to live here."

Fear and money are powerful motivators, Skerios. But the story about Shannon Nyamodi's wrongful arrest in torturous solitary confinement is reaching tens of thousands of people. Google "Shannon Nyamodi" to see for yourself. Protests are being planned to bring more attention to the young man's plight. The most recent update is at this article. It includes a YouTube video of Shannon's mother Elizabeth Crudup, and a radio interview with her dated March 8, 2014.

    Maitri Klinkosum Blocks Nyamodi Trial
    http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/2014/03/maitri-klinkosum-blocks-nyamodi-trial.html

What help do we need? Crudup said Shannon needs Kinkosum to accept being terminated from this case, so that Shannon can qualify for a State-appointed attorney. Kinkosum was paid a SIGNIFICANT amount of money for defending Shannon and has apparently worked against the youth regarding a trial to clear his name. Ms. Crudup has been in touch with Harvard Law, and she is hopeful that that institution might help. In any case, Shannon needs and deserves a competent attorney who will motion for bond reduction and a speedy trial - not a man who files motions for continuances and rejects trial dates and not a man who threatens the family.

Shannon should be released from solitary confinement. Solitary was imposed to prevent Shannon from learning that people like you know and are concerned about his indefinite detention without trial. The objective seems to be to make Shannon feel so isolated and desperate that he will sign a false confession to get out of jail. That works well with juvenile defendants and the mentally ill.

Please sign Shannon Nyamodi's petition at the link below, and share it with others. Help people to know that the new modus operandi for black youths is indefinite detention in solitary confinement to force them into false confessions:

    http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/free-shannon-zach-nyamodi

Please notice how many signatures are on the petition when you sign, and return periodically to see how the petition is going. Censorship is rampant to conceal government corruption. Thank you for promoting justice. More information will be added to this article as the case progresses.

  9. I just found this post while searching for something else, and thought you may want to know it contains a significant error. Samuel B. Currin, III, the DA for District 9, lives in Oxford, is a Democrat, and has served honorably as a state prosecutor in the same office for 34 years. He has never been a judge, and has certainly never been in prison. The former judge convicted of corruption is Samuel **T.** Currin, who is at least a decade younger, lives in Raleigh, and is a Republican. They are two completely different people.

    2. Thank you, nmaat433. To know the outcome of Shannon Nyamodi's story so far, please see "Shannon Nyamodi - Another Wrongfully Convicted Black Man"
      http://humanrightsforprisonersmarch.blogspot.com/2014/09/shannon-nyamodi-another-wrongfully.html

Remember that Shannon was barely over 18 when he was arrested. Most false confessions are from children and the mentally ill. A psychological game was run on Shannon. After two years of torturous solitary confinement, he was moved from Franklin County Jail by the NC DOC to another prison. He and his family thought he had been rescued. Shannon wrote a letter firing Klinkosum and filed a copy with the court. In the new prison, Shannon was not in solitary torture. He was allowed visits with his family and phone calls. They felt free now to pursue other legal representation, thinking they were finally free of Klinkosum. What a big relief! However, it was all a plantation game.

After two weeks, Shannon was inexplicably moved back to Franklin Co. Jail to solitary confinement. Once again, the only person visiting Shannon was Klinkosum who Shannon had terminated. Shannon was so shocked to be back in solitary in Franklin Co. Jail that Klinkosum somehow got him to plea bargain.

There were lots of wrongs along the way to Shannon's conviction, which I wrote articles about. See them by doing a search for "Shannon Nyamodi MaryLovesJustice".

Thank you for your interest in justice, mmaat433. Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill (AIMI) will take up to 100 cases involving claimants who were neglected, tortured, and killed under the color of law before the United Nations for restitution and relief. We believe that the psychological torture done to enforce Shannon's plea bargain rendered him temporarily insane and plan to present his case to the U.N.

Thanks for joining the Human Rights for Prisoners March.

    3. Hello, I hate to see ANY young black person ensnared in the criminal injustice system. It really incenses me. I wrote this cretin a letter but I doubt that someone like him will respond to any appeals to his obviously non-existent conscience or morals. But I want this case publicized so that Shannon can at least get some adequate legal counsel. And I'm not surprised about the NAACP. They are useless. Maybe we need to appeal to UN like Mike Brown's family? Although, I have little to no faith in any so called 'justice' centers b/c I believe most are simply tools or instruments of the US, but you never know. And I'm quite familiar with 'psychological torture' as I'm a Targeted Individual. Don't know if you are aware of this phenomena but the same entities that use kids like Shannon openly (and I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't 'experimented' on while in solitary like they do in Gitmo and the govt has a history of doing with prison inmates) but intel agencies & contractors are secretly & covertly performing nazi-like experiments on those on the outside of traditional prison walls too--a lot of veterans like me are being used as involuntary guinea pigs--sorry to go on a tangent but this country is the Nazi Central & people don't seem to realize what's going on right in front of our faces. Or maybe we don't want to know. Anyway, thanks for keeping us updated on the fight to free him. I will continue to pass on Shannon's case & check for updates.

    4. Thank you, nmaat433. We have no idea what was done to Shannon the night after he was suddenly removed from the new prison back to his torture cell in Franklin Co. Jail. We feel that broke him, but we do not know if some other torture or mind control, etc., was used. Imagine being in solitary confinement for approximately two years, given two weeks of apparent "freedom" in another prison in the general population, then jerked back to one's torture cell.

By the time Shannon was transferred back to Franklin Co. Jail, he had learned about his mother being assaulted by police and arrested for a short time on a traffic offense. That assault and arrest probably made Shannon afraid about the possibility of future attacks on his mom and family. Her car was towed to a town inexplicably far from the town where she was arrested. When I spoke with her recently, the car had not been released to her by police. One might say they stole her car.

We don't know what Klinkosum said to Shannon to get him to plea bargain. It was obvious to Shannon that he was being denied any real defense attorney and that nobody in the entire justice system was coming to his rescue. I think the young man gave up because of his psychological torture.

Yes, we do plan to take Shannon Nyamodi's torture before the U.N. International Court in 2015. http://AIMI-HumanRights.blogspot.com

    5. I can't even begin to imagine what that young man has been subjected to. And it's amazing but not surprising that this story hasn't been circulated more in the media, at least black media. I'm just now reading about it and his case is relatively old compared to those in the media now like Mike Brown & Marissa Alexander. It would seem this is the kind of case Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson would love to publicize. I'm also sorry to hear about what sounds like harassment of Shannon's mother. Do you know if she has gotten any local press or the local black community's support? It seems for whatever reason, Ferguson has rallied around Mike Brown's death & helped keep it in the forefront of people's consciousness.Shannon's story so reminds me of the Central Park 5 case. I would like to offer my help in anyway I can. This could be any of our sons. I'm sick of hearing about (and personally being targeted by) the injustice that is rampant in this country. It seems that criminals are both writing and evading laws that they expect us to abide by. Something has to change on a fundamental level. I will also check out site you provided a link for. Again, thanks for devoting time to this. We need more people like you.
